The Private family house you will visit is a wonderful Elizabethan house of mellow grey Cotswold stone, the house is virtually as it was left in 1576. Only two families have ever owned this glorious house. The inside of the house is filled with many interesting rooms and 17th-century tapestries.

These days, the property is very much a family home. On your visit you will have exclusive use to the property and one of the five members of family who live on site will give you a private guided tour of one of the finest Cotswold historic houses. The house has been used as a film and TV location on many occasions and has recently been seen as Styles Court in Agatha Christie’s Poirot story ‘The Mysterious Affair at Styles’; as Candleford Manor in the BBC’s ‘Lark Rise to Candleford’, scenes from the high acclaimed ‘Wolf Hall’ and the house now stars as Trenwith House in the hugely popular ‘Poldark’.

After your tour you can stop for tea and coffee and some homemade cookies before heading off to the Cotswold countryside. Exploring and touring through the West Cotswolds, a forgotten area of the Cotswolds famed for it’s dramatic views and true locals. Visiting villages and towns such as Minchinhampton, Bisley where the new BBC drama Pale Horse is filmed, Painswick and the magical gardens of Rococo Gardens and Gloucester Cathedral just to name a few.

For Americans Gloucester is an interesting stop as it is full of American history linking back to the Pilgrim movement and a famous local who created the star-spangled banner song. This day is full of beauty, history and unforgettable experiences that will surprise you in many ways!
