Blacksmith Experience & Cotswolds

Discover the age-old secrets of the craft of blacksmithing here in a traditional and interactive Cotswolds forge. We would like to welcome you to an exclusive experience in a rural blacksmiths forge and invite you to learn, in a very hands-on way, about the art of the traditional blacksmith. The sights and smells of the forge will take you back to medieval times and your expert blacksmith guide is here to help make something with you. 

Our blacksmithing experience is tailored to suit each of our guests, from the young beginner right the way through to those who may have more experience  You will build your skills from whatever level they are currently at, be that expert, intermediate or complete beginner. 

The experience is suitable for all ages 12+. You will learn how to manage your fire, shape the metal using the hammer and anvil while trying some of the techniques to help create an object, from bending and twisting the metal to make an object of your choice. 

At the end of the experience you will be guaranteed to take home a finished article, designed and made by you, from arrowheads, viking pins, paper knifes, hangers, smores pokers, whatever you fancy you can make and keep! It’s a very fun experience in an incredible historic forge and allowing you to learn a new skill at the same time. 
After your private Blacksmith Experience, we will go for lunch at a countryside pub and begin touring through the gorgeous Cotswold towns and villages to finish the day.
